Meet Jinja
Jinghua (Jin-wa) known as “Jinja” (jin-jer) to her western friends (a play on her love of the spice ginger & food in general) is a successful modern Chinese woman who splits her time between Sydney and Shanghai.
Beautiful
yet modest, independent yet social, confident yet reserved, knowledgeable yet eager to learn more, Jinja is still deeply connected to her Chinese ancestry.

As well as
balancing her time between the east and west, Jinja also balances the way she lives between the modern and the traditional, the decadent and the modest. She is deeply rooted by her Chinese cultural values of harmony, courtesy and honesty without sacrificing her modern values of independence, well-being, style & individuality. She appreciates simple pleasures but also the finer things in life and seeks out luxury in art, fashion and venues.

Most of all
Jinja is passionate about food and tea. She enjoys nothing more than dining out with friends and family, as well as cooking at home and experimenting with new dishes – especially modern interpretations of traditional Chinese cuisine. Her food philosophy is always centred around the principles of flavour, harmony, nourishment, connection and presentation.
The Chinese tea ceremony
is profoundly important to her daily life and its combination of philosophy, lifestyle, and healing properties. She believes through the ceremony—making tea, appreciating tea, smelling tea and enjoying tea, friendship is increased, and traditional virtues of etiquette are learned. The ceremony refreshes her mind and clear thoughts.
And whilst tea is her daily, Friday night cocktails with friends are her go-to at the end of her busy week.
Jinja is depicted throughout the restaurant, in original painting by Ronnie Samuels.
